About the Energy, Water, Waste Research Alliance

A collaborative, forward-looking alliance working to connect research, practical solutions, and community priorities for a healthier planet.

Who we are

Essential resources. Shared responsibility. Sustainable futures.

The Energy, Water, Waste Research Alliance (EWWRA) focuses on three essential areas of human wellbeing and environmental progress: energy, water, and waste. Our approach brings together research, technology, partnerships, and fieldwork to respond to real challenges faced by communities.

We believe communities should have access to reliable clean water, affordable and renewable energy, and safe, sustainable waste-management options. By combining scientific insight with local knowledge, programmes can be better adapted to local conditions and more likely to deliver lasting value.

EWWRA describes its work across more than 13 African countries, collaborating with local stakeholders and partners to support practical, inclusive solutions.
