Clean Energy & Sustainable Power

Practical solutions, shaped by local needs.

Access to reliable, affordable, and clean energy supports health, education, safety, and economic opportunity. EWWRA’s clean-energy focus includes renewable power, off-grid systems, energy efficiency, and cleaner cooking approaches adapted to local needs.

• Work with communities and local partners during planning.
• Choose solutions suited to the local environment and available skills.
• Pair infrastructure and technology with training and maintenance planning.
• Learn from field experience and improve implementation over time.

Solar microgrids & off-grid power

Community-based solar systems can support lighting, refrigeration, communication, schools, health centres, and small enterprises where grid power is limited. Solutions should be planned around local needs, maintenance capacity, and long-term operating costs.

Energy efficiency & cleaner cooking

Efficient cookstoves and energy conservation can reduce fuel use and indoor smoke while easing pressure on local biomass resources. Training and user feedback help households choose systems that work for their daily routines.

Renewable energy for livelihoods

Solar-powered irrigation and other appropriate technologies can help support farming, water access, and small-scale economic activity when paired with sound local planning.
